The shop

When you buy something we collect what an order needs: your name, address,
email, phone number, and what you bought. Payment is handled by PayPal — we
never see your card number.

The shop runs on Shopify, so that data sits on Shopify's servers. We use it to
send you the thing you bought, to tell you when it ships, and to answer you if
you write to us. Nothing else.

Your account

An account on console.beacon-kvm.com stores your email address, a hashed
password, and which devices belong to you.

The device

This is the part worth reading carefully, because a KVM sees the screen of the
machine it is plugged into.

What the device sends us: that it is online, its serial number, and the
firmware version it is running. That is what lets the console show you whether
a device is reachable.

What passes through our relay: when you open a session over the internet,
the video and your keystrokes are relayed through one of our servers. It is
encrypted end to end between your browser and the device — we route it, we
cannot read it.

What we do not store: the screen, your keystrokes, your mouse movements,
or anything you type into the machine you are controlling. None of it is
recorded, on the device or on our servers.

On your own network the browser connects to the device directly and
nothing goes through us at all.

Logs

Web servers keep the usual access logs — IP address, time, which page — for a
few weeks, to find faults and abuse. The relay keeps connection times and
volumes, not contents.

What we do not do

We do not sell your data, we do not send marketing you did not ask for, and we
do not run advertising trackers on this site.

Your rights

Write to support@beacon-kvm.com and ask for a copy of what we hold, a
correction, or deletion. Deleting an account removes it and its device
registrations; the orders behind it are kept as long as tax law requires.

Cookies

The shop uses cookies for the basket and the checkout. The console uses one to
keep you signed in. That is all — there is no analytics or advertising cookie
on either.
